20 days from now, families from all over the Southeast will be trekking down the familiar and bumpy Maxeys Road as they approach Camp Swamp for 2017's first day of camp! I'm not even going to be there the first day of camp but I'm so excited! Everybody has been working so hard over the past two months in preparation for this summer, from preparing Bible lessons, to spending days of cleaning and prepping the camp grounds! I can't wait to see what God has in store for the campers and staff this summer!
With just a few short weeks left until camp is underway, we want to make sure you and all the campers are prepared to have as much fun as possible this summer! Here a couple of important pages that you should check out as you begin to shop and pack for your weeks of camp:
Click here to read up on some helpful and important information prior to arriving at camp. For all things regarding medications, including Camp Swamp's most recent policies, click here. Be sure to read all the info carefully in order for us to have medicine check-in running smoothly!
There is no worse feeling than arriving at camp and realizing you didn't bring a pillow. Or your Bible. Or your book bag. Or deodorant. To avoid ending up in that situation, check out this helpful and downloadable list of what to bring (created by parents!) by clicking here! On this list, you will find the essentials for packing clothes, your book bag, etc.., as well as what NOT to bring!
For those of you that are Camp Swamp veterans, you know the most famous song and accompanying dance that Mr. Jeff will sing as far as drinking water goes, "Now watch me SIP, and watch me HYDRATE!" Be sure to bring a water bottle (with your name on it!) so that we're all staying safe and healthy while having fun!
If you want to send some love and care to your child (or their counselor ;)) during their week at camp, click here for all the info you need in regards to sending mail and care packages to Camp Swamp!
The last and most important step in preparing for this summer is prayer. In every situation, in joy, in hope, in fear and in sorrow, we should be turning to God in prayer (Ephesians 6:18, Psalm 130:7). At the deepest roots of Camp Swamp is the reliance on God for the safety, guidance, joy and fun for all the campers and staff, and we should continue to do so! Pray for God to work in the hearts of everybody in attendance this summer, and of course, pray for no snakes and no breaks :)
I hope this blog post proves to be helpful as you all prepare for the summer of a lifetime! Remember it's not too late to sign up for some of our camp sessions! Click here to check out availabilities and register today!
Thanks for reading! Until next week,
