Celebrating The Swamp's 25th Anniversary

Camp Swamp

Hi Swamp Blog Readers!

I hope you've all had a great week! This week I wanted to talk about a very special event coming up. This year The Swamp will be turning 25 years old!! To celebrate camp is hosting a 25th Anniversary Celebration at The Freight Room in Atlanta on Sunday, October 29.

Everyone is invited to attend, whether you've been to camp within the last two months or the last twenty years. The party will officially start on Sunday, but there will also be an Alumni Mixer Saturday evening where you can mingle with other alumni and fellow Swampers, as well as international camp directors!

On Sunday we're going celebrate Swamp with an old fashioned camp singing devotional, BBQ lunch, and a time to hang out and play games. In addition, we're going to have a time to talk about where The Swamp has been and where it is going in the future.

This is going to be a great time to remember the impact The Swamp has made in both our lives and the lives of others, as well as dream for the future of The Swamp. It's also going to be a great time to talk with camp directors from Jamaica, Barbados, South Africa, India, The Bahamas, and Nicaragua and hear the impact God is making through camp in those parts of the world.

It is insane to think of how much God has done through camp over the past 25 years. I myself have heard many stories from Swamp alumni of the first time they scouted out the property and the times they helped lay the foundations of the Dining Hall. Who would've known then that camp would end up going all over the world and changing the hearts of children and adults everywhere? It just wouldn't be right for us to not stop and celebrate!
